Drinking really well now and improving very nicely as the months roll by, we've bought quite a lot of this and don't mind hanging on to (some of) it to see how well the wine develops. The nose is like a lovely compote of raspberies, strawberries and black cherries with touches of vanilla, cinnamon and sweet toasty oak and the wine is just beginning to show alluring secondary aromas. Aged for 18 months in a combination of 50% French / 50% American oak, 50% of which is new each vintage, it's not ground-breaking in that respect, it's just beautifully made, a fine modern take on a classic.
Multi-layered on the nose, this shows cedar and lovely oxidative qualities backed up by punchy red plums and deft oak ageing… very accomplished.
