The latest addition to our range from this lovely family producer is a formidable blend of 66% Malbec, 22% Cabernet Sauvignon and 12% Cabernet Franc. The blend changes each year based on selections of the very best parcels of fruit in the vineyard and barrels in the winery. The style is essentially rich, succulent and generous – a posh crowd-pleaser if you like, but there is complexity and freshness a-plenty too. Lifted notes of black plums, boysenberry and dark chocolate introduce a full-bodied palate awash with luscious fruit, velvet-soft tannins and a fabulous finish reminiscent of black fruit compôte smothered in cream, with a lovely zip of raspberry acidity.
Fermented in a combination of stainless steel and concrete tanks, the Malbec and Cab Sauv are co-fermented to achieve seamless integration. Once blended the wine spends 18 months in oak (97% French, 3% American), only 3% of which is new, the rest 2nd and 3rd use, partly explaining the wine’s lovely purely of fruit and elegance.
A compact and rich wine with decadent and very pretty blackberry undertones. Full body, yet a soft and velvety texture.
