This is Syrah from very old vines grown in l'Hérault. The wine is fermented in small stailess steel tanks then transfered to first and second use oak barrels for 6 months, giving the nose an attractive lift of fresh vanilla pod. The first use barrels are 'broken in' with this wine as Boris prefers used oak for his more expensive wines, making this an absolute steal for those who love that classic, ripe, toasty oak up front. This is a robust and powerful yet finely balanced wine with lovely mineral notes on the end and plenty of spice and juicy black fruit throughout.
