What a breath of fresh air this is – serious Semillon that somehow straddles the very best of Bordeaux Blanc restraint and Hunter Valley weight and concentration. But this comparison doesn’t really do justice to a wine that is very much its own master. It is certainly citrus focused on the nose, being happily unhindered by oak, and there are lovely mineral notes there too. On the palate the pronounced acidity works beautifully with an amazing richness of fruit flavour and texture. Most astounding is the incredible length of this wine, which is drinking really well now but will no doubt improve with a year or two in bottle.
