BenMarco Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

BenMarco Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

So much wonderful purity of fruit on the nose, like essence of Cabernet with dense cassis, subtle touches of cedar, fresh wild mint and dried herbs. The wine is no less impressive on the palate with seamless oak integration and very fine tannins. 60% spends 11 months in new French oak, the remainder in second use American, resulting in a finished wine that offers a lovely layered complexity. This will age very well in bottle for 8 - 10 years.

"Like several wines at Dominio del Plata, this has moved up a notch with the 2013 vintage. Deeply coloured, smoky and concentrated, yet this has acidity and freshness to balance the tannins and fruit weight."

91 / 100 Tim Atkin ARGENTINA 2015 Special Report (2013 vintage)

"Like the Ben Marco Malbec, this wine can't be faulted for lack of ambition. It's a blend of grapes from Gualtallary and Los Arboles, built to age in bottle. Compact and quite firm, it shows notes of mint, capsicum and blackcurrant, with an overlay of French oak."
