Very pale, a colour reminiscent of the old 'clairet' drink from France; with solid viscosity in the glass and a delicately fragrant, fresh nose that suggests dried herbs and dried flowers with a smattering of red fruits. The nose is actually quite exotic and indulgent, beautifully simple somehow, as is the palate which drinks like very fine Pinot Noir in texture but with an almost vermouth-like warmth and charm at the end. Wine finds like this don't come around very often and we strongly recommend buying a case or two while it lasts. Only 50 cases produced and we bought it all. Amazing what you can make in a few demijohns!
