Benegas Sangiovese 2008

Sangiovese, the pearl in the Tuscan crown, crafted here from vines averaging 50 years old, revealing a wine of tremendous personality and concentration. The wine is a dense, deep red colour typical of the variety; with an unstoppable onslaught of ripe raspberry, cherry and strawberry fruit on both nose and palate, trimmed with lovely fine tannins. Rarely cellared due to its youthful appeal but this will reward your patience handsomely if you so choose.

“… dark ruby coloured with a lovely red cherry perfume, notes of cedar and mineral, and an elegant personality. This smooth, friendly wine could easily pass for Tuscan in a blind tasting.”
90 Points, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, December 2008 (2006 vintage)
