RJ VIÑEDOS, UCO VALLEY, MENDOZA
This family owned winery was conceived by father, Raul Joffré, just over a decade ago as a foundation for the future of his four daughters and for family generations to come. Today, the “girls” have accumulated exemplary experience in all fields of the wine business and, together with father Raul, are actively involved in the daily running of the winery and marketing their delicious products. With their multiple skills and varied backgrounds they make up a formidable team. Jimena is a lawyer and graduate in International Public Relations and Commerce. Maria Fernanda is a Psychologist and PR specialist. Marisel is an actress and audiovisual producer, whilst Barbara is finishing her studies in Graphic design and Modern Languages. Raul’s two great Passions in life are his four daughters and wine; thus was born the concept behind the flagship range, Pasion 4.
The RJ Viñedos estate comprises 60 hectares of vineyards situated at 1,000–1,400 metres altitude in the renowned Valle de Uco region of Mendoza in the foothills of the Andes. The 10–60 year old vineyards are planted with Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Bonarda, Chenin Blanc and Chardonnay. The family is currently investing in its Luján de Cuyo winery, which is undergoing major structural renovation in order to showcase the high-tech vinification equipment with which it is already kitted out. The winery also has a cellar of 800, mainly French, oak barrels. The Joffré family philosophy is dedicated to producing top quality wines with a strong personality and a distinctive character which are recognisable throughout the range. Our prediction – this estate will soon become one of the country’s true greats.
